CMT Music Awards 2023: Celebrating the Best in Country Music Videos

The CMT Music Awards is an annual event that recognizes the outstanding achievements of country music artists in their music and music videos. The 2023 edition of the event is set to be co-hosted by Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini, and will take place on Sunday night.

Lainey Wilson has secured four nominations, making her the artist with the highest number of nominations this year. Wilson is in the running for video of the year, female video of the year, collaborative video of the year, and CMT performance of the year. Cody Johnson, Kane Brown, and Jelly Roll are also among the top nominees, with three nominations each.

The video of the year award is one of the most coveted awards of the night, and sixteen acts were originally nominated for it. However, only four finalists made the cut – Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn, HARDY, Lainey Wilson, and Carrie Underwood.

The CMT Music Awards has a rich history of showcasing some of the best country music videos of all time. In 2022, Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over” won the coveted video of the year award.

In 2021, Gabby Barrett was the big winner of the night, taking home three awards, including female video of the year, breakthrough video of the year, and overall video of the year for her hit song “The Good Ones.” Other winners of the night include Kane Brown, Taylor Swift, and Kelsea Ballerini.
